Let’s just get rid of that debt limit, says… Tim Geithner?
Yep, the United States’ Treasury Secretary says there should be no limit on America’s incurred debt. Oy:
On Bloomberg TV, “Political Capital” host Al Hunt asked Geithner if he believes “we ought to just eliminate the debt ceiling.”
“Oh, absolutely,” Geithner said.
“You do? Will you propose that?” Hunt asked.
“Well, this is something only Congress can solve,” Geithner said. “Congress put it on itself. We’ve had 100 years of experience with it, and I think only once–last summer–did people decide to use it to threaten default on the American credit for the first time in history as a tool for political advantage. And that’s not a tenable strategy.”
Ha, who are you kidding? Of course you’re not going to propose that — the Obama administration may be seriously incompetent, but even they know the American people would never support giving Congress a credit card with no limit.

Posted on November 20, 2012 at 10:29amLet’s just lock Geithner up for blatant VIOLATION of the oath of his office and RECKLESS ENDGANGERMENT OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC as his “policy” is putting peoples lives at risk due to the domino effect of the reckless policy, that can and does lead to homelessness, depression, lack of funds for BARE necessities for survival in this culture. Lock him up and put him in a psych ward he is a dangerous psychopath.

Posted on November 19, 2012 at 5:17pmNaturally. Forget the consequences, right? Who cares how it puts our future as a republic at risk. And to learn who you’re dealing with, you have to say things for what they are; remove the pc and get to the point. Progressives are sociopathic.

Posted on November 19, 2012 at 4:52pmThe politicians that used the debt ceiling as a political poker chip should be held accountable as traitors.
They quite literally held the country’s entire economy hostage in order to get some political gain. The debt ceiling has been raised by every president with the exception of Truman has raised the debt ceiling. Congress raised it 18 times under Reagan, and 7 times under Bush.
Nobody is exactly sure what would happen if we had in fact failed to raise the debt ceiling. The best case scenario would have been a severe recession. The politicians responsible for holding off a deal were willing to throw the entire economy off the cliff to get what they wanted.
If someone brings a bomb on a plane and tells everyone to do what they want or they’ll bring the whole thing down, that’s an act of terrorism. If they hold the plane hostage for money, that’s terrorism. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is what the politicians in charge were doing. They held the entire US economy hostage; millions of jobs, trillions of dollars. They said, ‘do what we want, or we’ll pull the rug out from under the entire country.’
They are traitors.

Posted on November 19, 2012 at 5:34pmOf course, you have a right to your opinion and I respect that. However, I have two words for you: Situational Awareness.
We’re on the cusp of an economic wilderness and you’re arguing because Reagan, Bush and every other president raised the debt ceiling, you’re okay with it? I have no respect for a government who can’t manage the people’s money. Particularly when it’s not my government.
Happy Thanksgiving.
