Harry Reid: We’ve already cut spending!
President Obama may be running annual trillion-dollar deficits at this point, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid thinks the demands to cut spending are a bit too short-sighted. After all, they’ve already cut $1 billion in spending:
“Now remember, we’ve already done more than a billion dollars worth of cuts. We’ve already done that. So we need to get some credit for that,” Reid told the press Wednesday.

I’m not sure how much influence the President had on that deal, but he seems to be able to wait until the Republicans get all wild and blustery about something, then calmly salvage the situation. That the GOP can’t see past their next recess. I know they don’t care about the economy but you would think they would care about losing all of these fights in an election year. This is chess, not checkers.
