‘Malarkey’ sets Merriam-Webster record
Merriam-Webster announced today that the two words that received the most searches on its website were “socialism” and “capitalism.”
Another record search: “Malarkey.”
Within 24 hours of V.P. Joe Biden using the word in this year’s vice presidential debate, searches for the word spiked by 3,000 percent on Merriam-webster.com, according to the Associated Press.
