Joe Scarborough on ‘bullies’ in talk radio: ‘Punch them in the face’
On MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, co-host Joe Scarborough said Republican presidential candidates in the future should “stand up” to the “bullies” in conservative talk radio.
“These type of people who have the ability to make what [George W.] Bush called the compassionate conservative argument,” Scarborough said, “get thrown to the side because they don’t sound enough like Glenn Beck or a blogger.”
Political commentator Mike Barnicle asked if there’s “enough room” for a moderate candidate like Mitt Romney “to breathe” among the “shrillness of voices on both sides.”
“What do you do do a school yard bully?” Scarborough replied. “You punch them in the face. You think any of these people in talk radio — if they’re punched in the face by a Republican nominee — do you think they would push back? No, they’re cowards. They’re bullies. Punch them in the face and they back off.”
Scarborough said Romney’s failure to “stand up to these bullies” lead to his defeat in the election.

There from Al Gore’s tiny Current network, in case you’ve never heard of it.
Then there’s the racist Mike Malloy. HSNBC* has its own crew of haters from Tingles to Ruth Buzzi to the drunken O’Donnell and his boy,Al Sharpton.

Posted on December 10, 2012 at 10:53amIf I remember correctly Joe, ask Newt Gingrich how it felt to go on Glenn’s show and try and “punch him in the face.” Glenn never backed down and had the best interview with Newt because it exposed Newt for who he was.
Keep working on that 3rd hour Joe.

Posted on December 10, 2012 at 10:32amWhat Republican’s need is more people like you Joe; who have the guts to trash conservative talk shows on MSNBC. Lord knows there is so little of that kind of integrity in the public discourse of the main stream media. What courage to stand up to your network, your bosses and even risk the favor of your co-host and guest. If only you had continued to serve as a Congressman how much more evolved Conservatives would have been by now. But nay.

Posted on December 10, 2012 at 9:23amRomney’s problem wasn’t talk radio. His problem was being unfocused, reacting to the left rather than taking the offensive, and getting typically awful campaign advice from the GOP. Credit the Dems for inspired attacks on whatever they decided Romney believed in.
