Barney Frank on Fox News and the ‘legitimacy they don’t deserve’

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) is wrapping up his final weeks in Congress. In a type of end-of-career profile in the Associated Press, Frank said when he exits the House for good, he’d like to become a regular talking head on TV news.

From the AP:

Look for him soon on a television set near you.

Frank has little interest in hosting his own cable television show but plans to be a regular paid commentator on political programs. When asked for which network, he says he’s only begun to narrow the field: “Not Fox,” Frank declares with no hint of a smile.

“I have no interest in encouraging people to watch it,” he says of Fox News. “They’re so overwhelmingly biased that being a voice there a few minutes a week, an hour a week, it lends a legitimacy they don’t deserve.”

Guess that means no more exchanges like this one.

I don’t know of any news group that deserves legitimacy, in fact, Barney himself doesn’t deserve it.

Lawbreakers shouldn’t be involved in creating our laws.

Sounds like he tried to get on Fox News and they turned him down. The only one illegitimate is Bawnee Fwank, and he should be someone’s girl in the Federal Pen for some of the stuff he’s done in Congress as his retirement position.
