USA Today open to placing armed guards in schools

Wayne LaPierre, head of the National Rifle Association, said Friday in a statement that the solution to gun violence in schools is to have armed guards in them. “It’s the one thing that would keep people safe,” he said.

The editorial board at USA Today doesn’t agree. But it doesn’t disagree, either. From today’s editorial:

[A]rmed guards at schools makes some sense. It’s certainly a better idea than arming teachers, which could frighten students and create more problems than it would solve. It’s doubtful most teachers would want to carry guns, and doubtful that most parents would be comfortable with the idea of armed educators of uncertain training, expertise and temperament.

Far better, if guns are to be in schools, for them to be in the hands of a small group of highly trained and qualified guards, if only as a last line of defense. … It’s conceivable that such a person might have been able to stop Adam Lanza before he murdered 20 first-graders. Or, just as conceivably, an armed guard might have been the first victim of Lanza’s vastly superior firepower.

Roughly one-fourth of the nation’s public schools already have armed guards, so this isn’t a new or untested idea. Schools shouldn’t be forced to accept gun-carrying security, but if local boards of education want it, that’s their prerogative.

The Liberal Mind….Liberalism is a mental disorder. Liberals are retarded in their thinking. They refuse to acknowledge the existence of evil. Neville Chamberlin epitomizes the foolishness of Liberalism and its willingness to accept the false face which evil portrays to the world. Liberals believe in the inherent goodness of man, and that if man’s living condition is changed, the man will be changed. If you give a bad man what he wants, he will cease being a bad man. They don’t realize that evil is never satisfied, it’s desire is to consume the whole man, mind, body & soul. And, it wants to destroy whatever and whoever is in its proximity. Liberalism refuses to accept that there is a real, evil entity known as the devil or satan. Satan is called a liar, the father of lies and the Destoyer. Liberalism is an abhorrent spiritual condition. “Thinking themselves wise, they become fools. Deluding, and being deluded. They believe the “Lie” (thinking themselves gods), and God will (or has) sent a strong delusion upon them. Refuse to acknowledge evil, and it will destroy you one day.

Why not? Schools are just stepping stones to the penal colonies (County, State and Federal)……Get the small minds of mush filled with love of Marx and having armed guards??

In addition to an armed guard….set up an alarm system, similar to a fire alarm but with a distinct sound, that will sound throughout the grounds. Have it set so only the police can shut it down so everyone will know when the had police arrived and made it safe to respond to them. In addition to a manual pull, give the teachers remotes on a button attached to necklace or bracelet so they set it off while hiding.
Okay, teachers might not want a gun but what about a TASER? You could have them locked in a secure place in a classroom and available, by the teacher only, when or if it is needed. They can decide if they want to use it. A TASER is, arguably, not deadly and might be used by more teachers because of that fact. It will subdue the intruder. That is what we need to do. Actually, maybe we can learn what causes some of these attacks because the intruder will be alive to give out information. I would like to see a TASER in every class room. And MACE also. Give the some defense to the teachers.

Does the editorial board of USA Today prefer to read about unarmed defenseless teachers hiding in a closet with her children when an armed lunatic approaches for the easy kill?

I wan’t “touched” at all reading about such a teacher in this latest shooting. She was practicing what she had been taught all her life – how to be a defenseless female! Some help she was, defenseless like the children she should have been able to protect.

Shooter Adam wanted easy kills. What’s easier than an elementary school full of children and young female teachers? Why did it take a man who had already left the school, to return to lead three female teachers to safety out the window? Didn’t these teachers see the window themselves?

While the editorial board of USA today does its best to keep it’s women helpless, the school boards need to look at this latest example and how the women teaching our children continue to be trained to be helpless.

After all, we don’t want to frighten the children by letting them see women who are really able to take care of them – and keep them alive. Instead of running to hide with the children and cornering themselves like fools, women must be taught it’s attractive to be able to take care of themselves.

Helplessness should no longer be taught in “charm school”! Teacher’s seeking a license must be capable of defending their classes. Anti-gun teaching applicants will be declared incapable of teaching children until they themselve
