As the debate continues over how best to handle the nation’s “fiscal cliff” mess, President Obama’s negotiation skills sure aren’t helping his approval rating — down 5 points since Christmas:
In Gallup’s three-day tracking period that ended on Dec. 23, the poll’s last day before Christmas, 37 percent said they disapproved of the job Obama was doing as president and 57 percent said they approved. That was the lowest disapproval Obama had enjoyed since Gallup’s three-day tracking period that ended on Aug. 1, 2009.
Over the four days that Gallup polled after Christmas, however, Obama’s approval dropped 4 points to 53 percent and his disapproval climbed five points to 42 percent. That is where it stood on Dec. 29, the most recent day of polling Gallup has reported in its presidential approval survey.

Jan. 3, 2013 at 8:55amDo you really think BO really cares what you think? It’s full steam ahead now. Why this country doesn’t oust him is beyond me. There is plenty to oust him on!

Jan. 1, 2013 at 12:26pmGallup can suck my…
Does anyone really believe that Gaybama gives a rats patootie what we think of him in his “lame duck” years? He doesn’t care – he’s thinking about how to concretely consolidate his power.
We should instead be focusing on making sure that these are his last 4 years, or less, in office.

Dec. 31, 2012 at 4:28pmHere’s the paragraph from Gallup that cracks me up:
“In the current three-day average of Obama’s job approval rating, 91% of Democrats approve, along with 54% of independents and 16% of Republicans. The approval rating among Democrats is unchanged from last week, while the approval ratings among independents and Republicans are both up significantly, from 47% and 9%, respectively.”
Approval ratings for the President AMONG REPUBLICANS AND INDEPENDENTS ARE BOTH UP SIGNIFICANTLY.
What’s up, Repugs? You getting soft in your dotage? Is that trash heap you’re headed for looking less appealing all of a sudden?

Dec. 31, 2012 at 4:23pmLet’s start with some perspective. This is Gallup, right? http://www.policymic.com/articles/17752/presidential-polls-2012-gallup-puts-romney-ahead-nationally-in-swing-states-and-with-early-voters
Ignoring the established incompetence of Gallup as a polling service, it claims that Obama reached a high of 56% and is now at 53%, which only the hyperbolic would describe as a “nosedive.” Even still, 53% puts Obama ahead of both Bushes in the December of the re-election year (even though Bush 41 was only clearing out his desk). I suppose the nation will survive this “nosedive” after all.

Dec. 31, 2012 at 3:09pmThe poll does not indicate the number of liberals that think that BO is not pushing hard enough to raise the tax to the so called rich. The true liberals want taxes to go up for every one. BO is waffling in that area.
