As of late the New York Daily News has taken an all-out activist approach to covering the gun-control debate swirling in Washington. The tabloid went so far as to draft a petition with signatures from its readers calling for more regulation to reduce gun violence.

One Daily News cover showed the Capitol building with blood running down from the roof.
