Shocker: Young Americans know diddly-squat about Roe v. Wade

A new research poll from Pew sheds some disturbing light on the issue of abortion and the landmark Supreme Court case protecting a woman’s decision to have an abortion as a right of privacy under the 14th Amendment.

The poll presents two significant findings:

1. The number of Americans who think the Roe v. Wade decision should be overturned has declined over the last two decades, with 63% now opposing such a measure — including 48% of Republicans and 55% of Catholics:

2. Young Americans in particular are clueless about Roe v. Wade (among other things), with the majority of those aged 18-29 unable to linke the Roe v. Wade decision with the issue of abortion:

Remind me again how many of these people voted to re-elect Barack Obama…

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision and with each passing year, fewer and fewer Americans see abortion (of the lack thereof) as an “important issue.”

It doesn’t matter if “young people” know what the court case was about. All that matters is that they know that abortion is a perfectly safe medical procedure, one that does not kill anything, but rather removes a zygote/embryo from a woman before it can develop into a child.

That’s all that seems to matter, and the fact that abortion support continues to increase year after year is just further proof that people are buying into the whole ‘life begins at conception’ b.s.

The people who elected Obama in 2008 and again in 2012 are ignorant, uneducated and low class people and are puppets of the White Slave Master’s Pelosi, Biden, Reid, Clinton, Boxer, Feinstein, Kennedy and all the other puke Liberals in this country.

Disturbing? Depends on your point of view.

“1. The number of Americans who think the Roe v. Wade decision should be overturned has declined over the last two decades”
Wouldn’t call that “disturbing”–quite the opposite actually.

“2. Young Americans in particular are clueless about Roe v. Wade (among other things), with the majority of those aged 18-29 unable to linke the Roe v. Wade decision with the issue of abortion”
And Sarah Palin was clueless about every Supreme Court decision NOT Roe v. Wade, which is far more embarrassing (especially for an elected official)–what’s your point?

“Remind me again how many of these people voted to re-elect Barack Obama…”
Awww, is someone butthurt about losing?

“This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision and with each passing year, fewer and fewer Americans see abortion (of the lack thereof) as an “important issue.””
Probably because access to it has become a settled issue–I GUARANTEE you if conservatives got what they wanted on this issue you’d see a visceral and immediate reversal of this trend of apathy towards the issue.
