Graphic: How much real estate could the U.S. deficit buy?

During the 2012 fiscal year, the United States government racked up a federal deficit of about $1.1 trillion.

That’s $1,100,000,000,000.

If you’re like me and never have anything larger than a $20 bill in your wallet, that figure is pretty hard to grasp in real terms. Fortunately for us, the kind folks at the real estate site Movoto put together this handy infographic to give a little perspective:

I see one minwouldn’t pay for all his vacations thus far. It wouldn’t evencover a qarter of his recent Hawaiian vacation.
I could buy a mighty fine home and retire with the money he’s used up, and have enough to help another family member.

And obama didn’t even get all of the debt he asked for.

If Romney had been elected, it would still have been almost impossible to turn this country around. With obama in office, a guy who WANTS to destroy the Dollar, it’s a certainty.

Wonderful info but what about one on how much Real Estate the Chinese could take in return for all we owe them. How many states would they own starting at the East Coast going westward or start with Texas and radiate out?

I would prefer we start with whatever state you inhabit and stop there-
