Roger Ailes expects Fox News to ‘articulate’ the GOP’s appeal to Hispanics

The Republican Party is remaking itself as to become more inviting to Hispanic voters. And Fox News is doing the same. In an interview with The New Republic, Fox News CEO Roger Ailes said going forward, his channel is adopting strategy to appeal to Hispanic viewers:

“The fact is, we have a lot—Republicans have a lot more opportunity for them,” Ailes says. “If I’m going to risk my life to run over the fence to get into America, I want to win. I think Fox News will articulate that.” …

“I happen to think that the Latino audience is an essentially traditional audience and will go to Fox News for traditional American values,” Ailes says.

In the interview, Ailes also said the GOP hasn’t “used the right language” in discussing immigration. “We should all defend sovereignty, then take a Judeo-Christian approach to immigration,” he said. “I don’t have any problem with a path to citizenship.”

Conservatives will have as much success wooing Hispanics as they have had courting African americans. Why do you think Hispanics will forget all of the piss & vinegar spewed forth from foxnews or any of the conservative mouthpieces? Good luck GOP with your old , dying, racist white base.

“If I’m going to risk my life to run over the fence to get into America, I want to win. I think Fox News will articulate that.” …”

This seems to coincide with something I read recently about FOX News:

    ————————-
“Ailes has aggressively, and shrewdly, toned things down post-election. Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly were among the first conservatives to call for a rethinking of the GOP’s opposition to comprehensive immigration reform. And then Palin and Morris got the boot, sending an unmistakable message about the new expectations for the channel’s contributors.”
Politico (Feb. 8, 2013): “The GOP, Fox political purge”

When Sean Hannity starts hinting on TV that he’s warming up to the idea of embracing amnesty for illegal aliens, then you can pretty much stick the proverbial fork in FOX News Channel….

Of course, O’Reilly will pretty much promote any idea that you put in front of him as long as you write him a big enough check.

It would be nice if the GOP had some policies that appealed to Hispanics instead of finding ‘the right words to say’ to convince them they should support them. Okay, someone say ‘amnesty’ and watch the screaming and crying begin at FoxNews headquarters!
