Sarah Palin pokes back at fake ‘Al-JaJizzraa’ story
After the parody site The Daily Currant ran a satirical piece about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s “plans” to sign on as a contributor to Al Jazeera, the Washington Post’s Suzi Parker turned the satire into a story. As we reported, the story was later scrubbed from WaPo’s website.
“As you all know, I’m not a big fan of newspapers, journalists, news anchors and the liberal media in general,” Palin was quoted as saying in the original report. “But I met with the folks at Al-JaJizzraa (sic) and they told me they reach millions of devoutly religious people who don’t watch CBS or CNN. That tells me they don’t have a liberal bias.”
Yeah, that sounds completely legit. I can see how Parker was so easily duped. (Not.)
Fortunately, Palin knows how to turn absurd media incompetence into a bit of fun:
Hey @washingtonpost, I’m having coffee with Elvis this week. He works at the Mocha Moose in Wasilla. #suziparkerscoops #idiotmedia

And Palin fans across Twitter were also inspired to have a little fun of their own:
#suziparkerscoops Palin to drown sack of kittens in river today after stopping by orphanage to remind the children no one loves them.

@suziparker Curious; did you get your column at the WaPo at a yard sale?

Hi @suziparker. It’s just us non-journos & friends of Palin. We trended #suziparkerscoops for you. You’re welcome! twitter.com/michellemalkin…
