National Review editor sides with Cal Thomas on Carson’s Prayer Breakfast speech
Conservative columnist Cal Thomas spoke out (and caught heat on the right for it) against Dr. Ben Carson‘s controversial National Prayer Breakfast speech. Thomas called Carson’s politically-charged remarks “inappropriate” for the event, which was attended by President Obama.
Siding with Thomas is National Review Editor Rich Lowry. “The National Prayer Breakfast is not supposed to serve as a forum for a clash of political visions, but that was what Ben Carson made it last week,” Lowry wrote in a column published yesterday.
He lauded the speech, however, as an “old-fashioned American up-from-the-bootstraps success story joined to a celebration of old-fashioned American virtues.”
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on February 14, 2013 at 9:19pmCal, you have just described Political Correctness (PC) in Its Purest form. “His remarks were inappropriate for the occasion. It would have been just as inappropriate had he praised the president’s policies. The president had a right to expect a different message about another Kingdom.”
The magicians stick of PC comes swooping across as it touches 3,000 plus spectators. Was president Obama “Bush-whacked” by a mere Dr. Benjamin Carson, Neuro Surgeon? Was Obama laid to waste along the road by a good Samaritan? No and No. The surprise is more about speaking the truth in a public venue than Obama’s, caught off-guard from a “how dare he speak that way in a safe zone”. Hey he just broke the PC rules of National Prayer Breakfast in a no harm, no foul arena area, Just ask, Cal Thomas, he has my back, and he will play the PC Card! Take that Dr. Carson. Plus Obama might also say, “He broke the rules and I wasn’t prepared, once again, just ask about Cal Thomas about my PC Card, He’ll play it in his column. Yah know,Dr Benjamin Solomon Carson just took me down, (me) Barrack Hussein Obama, when I wasn’t looking. Even during a spiritual blind-sided attack in this safe zone (When did DC become spiritual and safe?)answer: When it became PC. It’s, Unfair, unfair and unfair! I had to just still there and twiddle with head down. Who does he think he is?” Once again, he is Dr Benjamin Carson, famed Neuro Surgeon? Yes that’s exactly who he thinks he is, Dr. Benjamin Carson, fam

Posted on February 14, 2013 at 1:39pmMr. Thomas failed to mention whether Mother Teresa’s comments in 94 at Clinton’s prayer breakfast were inappropriate when she spoke against abortion. He may need to rethink what that breakfast time is all about. There is a place for morality discussions in this country even at the President’s table.

Posted on February 14, 2013 at 1:38pmMaybe the reason our country is so screwed up is because we have been told we should never discuss politic or religion. Then Cal and Rich come along and say that at a religious gathering you should not talk about politics. So when and where are we supposed to discuss religion and politics? I really would like to here your thought and not just that it is not polite. Impolite happens every minute of every day so get over it. I am not saying be impolite but we have to learn to discuss touchy issues, religion and politics, so differences can be resolved.
I cannot not discuss one without bringing up the other. My life is based on my religious beliefs, my values, so everything in my life is filtered through a spiritual prism.

Posted on February 14, 2013 at 1:20pmRich and Cal are drinking the kool-aid. At least we have Ben Carson to tell it like it is. The democrats use every venue to state their beliefs. It’s time we use their methods.
