One of President Obama’s favorite promises to make is that he won’t increase our nation’s debt or deficit — not by “a single dime,” he insisted during Tuesday night’s State of the Union address. But this is a promise we’ve heard many, many times before. Yet since President Obama took office, our national debt has increased by more than 58 trillion dimes.
