Mark Sanford makes his appeal to the ‘God of second chances’

Surely you remember Mark Sanford — the disgraced ex-governor of South Carolina who admitted to carrying on an extra-marital affair while in office. Sanford told friends and family he’d be hiking the Appalachian Trail while, in actuality, he was having a rendezvous in South America with an Argentine woman. He was later censured by the South Carolina General Assembly following a State Ethics Commission investigation into allegations that he misused state funds to conduct his affair.

Yep, that Mark Sanford.

Anyway, that Mark Sanford is back… and running for Congress.  In his very first TV ad, Sanford makes an appeal to voters and a “God of second chances.”

“I’ve experienced how none of us go through life without mistakes. But in their wake we can learn a lot about grace, a God of second chances and be the better for it,” Sanford says in the ad, titled “Change Washington” — because nothing changes Washington like electing another philandering narcissist.  Gross.

He must realize that details of his affair will be all over the news again for his children and ex-wife to relive.

    Selfish, selfish man.

Mark Sanford, are you unable to make a living in the private sector. You remind me of Charlie Christ the former Governor of Florida.

He also has made a fool of himself and tried to make a living in the private sector but now has decided to run for public office once again.

What is wrong with you people that embarrass themselves and then decide to once again become public servants.

I know that I would not vote for either one of you people but that is not up to me. I hope both of you receive a resounding defeat that once and for all removes the likes of you from attempting to want to serve the people when all you really want is to serve yourself.

It’s OK for God to give second chances, but voters should not!
