Powell, Cheney, Laura Bush news clips used in pro-gay marriage ad
The Respect for Marriage Coalition, a gay rights group, launched a national ad campaign today featuring clips and quotes of prominent Republicans who support same-sex marriage.
RMC’s TV ad, which will begin airing today on cable channels and then on network Sunday news programs, uses old news clips of former first lady Laura Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney and former State Secretary Colin Powell. Print editions of the ad, featuring the same figures, will run in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post over the coming weeks, according to a release from RMC.
In the ad, Bush is seen in a CNN appearance saying… “When couples are committed to each other and love each other then they ought to have the same sort of rights that everyone has.”
Powel, also on CNN: “Allowing them to live together with the protection of law, it seems to me is the way we should be moving in this country.”
Cheney, during a speech at the National Press Club in 2009: “Freedom means freedom for everyone.”
Cheney’s daughter Mary is a lesbian and was legally married last year.
An excerpt from President Obama‘s Inaugural address is also included in the ad.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 2:19pmThis outfit did not get permission from the persons shown to do this. That is grounds for a law suit. But that is not the way of the gay, to get permission.
They will do anything to force their gay agenda into our society (already done), into our school children (already done) and all facets of entertainment. Note that there is not one tv show that does not have at least a “token” gay or couple like it was a normal way to be. And from the ones who “preach” their version of scripture, and tolerance, let me quote Jesus when he said “(Matthew 10:34-36) – “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35. “For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36. and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.” The gay movement is fulfilling this very scripture. Gays are not tolerant with a brother or sister or parent who speaks their belief. Gays are vicious, I know, this has been experienced in my own family when we did not accept this way of life into our home atmosphere. Jesus knew there was unbelief and His message of Hope would bring division. Jesus is forgiving, because He will accept anyone who will believe in Him. That makes Him inclusive to all who will believe in Him. Gays have a choice in their life. Some are believing and asking forgiveness and some are not.
