DEFCON 1: 1st grader suspended for talking about a toy gun

Every day this week I’ve highlighted a ridiculous story about anti-gun paranoia. Today is no exception, except this one has a happier ending.

A first-grade student in Pasco, Wash., was suspended from school for talking about toy guns. It’s bad enough that you could get suspended for talking about guns, but talking about TOY guns?! Insane.

The Tri-City Herald reports:

Mike Aguirre’s son Noah, a first-grader at James McGee Elementary School, was sent home Feb. 28 after another student told their teacher that Noah had a gun with him.

Noah had no gun, toy or otherwise, but Aguirre said his son still was punished for talking with other students about the Nerf guns the family recently bought during a trip to Lincoln City, Ore.

Aguirre said he and his wife were told their son was suspended for talking about guns at school, and because the girl who reported him felt her “health and safety were threatened” when they were called to the school last week. Officials said the issue is addressed in the district’s discipline handbook in the section on student rights and responsibilities.

I told you this story had a happy ending, so here it is:

“After a review it was determined that no disciplinary action is warranted and all record of the incident will be expunged from the student’s record,” according to a district statement sent Wednesday to the Herald.

I’m glad that Noah’s suspension was overturned, but this level of crazy paranoia still exists. We’re raising an entire generation of children who think foam darts are a legit threat to their “healthy and safety.” And this isn’t the first time Nerf toys have been targeted for gun control.

C’mon. I’m not saying you need to arm your children. I’m just sayin’ that wetting oneself is not really an effective method of self-defense.

You know what….. these school teachers and staffers have got to be “mentally unstable”, there’s no doubt about it. Really? talking about a TOY gun? Really? Hell, we used to bring our toys guns to school (of course we were in trouble, like the teacher confiscating them for the day, if we took them out of the desk before recess), but then we’d just find sticks or something else to play cops and robbers, cowboy’s and indians or war games with. The liberal socialist/communist democrats have the entire country running scared of their own shadows with their shooter behind every rock paranoia. TALKING about a TOY gun….. Nawww Man, you really have got to be puttin’ me on with this one.

The problem with incidents such as the shootings is that the country will now think that they have to control every detail in order to prevent anything further from happening. However, they are creating more problems and tension among the very people that should be coming together.
Pretty soon we won’t be able to even point without getting arrested for “mimicking a gun” and “threatening those around us”.

  NO, NO, NO…. do not say the country. It is not the country. It’s the liberal, socialist/communist democrat party that is the control freaks in this country who are doing these idiotic things, not the country as a whole. It’s time we call the liberal socialist/communist democrats exactly what they are “COMMUNIST” and stop using ear tickling words to describe them… The Democrat Party is the COMMUNIST DEMOCRAT PARTY and they’re out to take over America and turn it into a Socialist/Communist Country.

why aren’t parents showing up to the schools in droves? why isn’t the NRA-ILA team calling for dismissal of these *obviously* mentally deranged idiots running the schools? Why does this seem to be a growing problem, not a shrinking one?

I cannot fathom how this is happening and NOTHING is being done by Pro-Second Amendment Groups! The Second Amendment is being used as a weapon to shame and ridicule which is not only despicable, it is disgusting….

Its time to go to every school in America, walk through the parking lots and take notice of every ‘That Guy’ sticker on cars of faculty and call for their immediate termination; They want ‘Change’ so lets give them what they asked for!!

Remember these are the people teaching our children……wonder how we ever survived, put a man on the moon, designed and developed the space shuttle before the Dept of Ed and “standardized” schooling
