Don’t worry, Korea — the United Nations is on the job
Yesterday, North Korea essentially walked away from its 1953 armistice with South Korea. As history has taught us, it’s probably best to take the threats of a malicious dictator seriously. But since when has the United Nations learned anything from history?
North Korea has torn up its treaty and promised to “rain down bullets” on its enemies. In response, the intellectual giants at UN dismissed the provocation as… “illegal”:
The armistice ending the Korean War is still valid and still in force, despite North Korea’s claim that it has been nullified, the top U.N. spokesman said Monday.
Martin Nesirky said the 60-year-old armistice agreement had been adopted by the U.N. General Assembly and neither North Korea nor South Korea could dissolve it unilaterally.
Oh, well, there you have it: Â The UN says no one could go to war unless the UN signs off on it. Â What could go wrong?
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. What idiot believes that both parties must denounce an armistice or it is not broken.
