Mississippi passes anti-Bloomberg soda law
The state of Mississippi is officially anti-Bloomberg’s anti-soda law. The Magnolia State is now officially pro-big soda:
A New York judge isn’t the only one taking aim at New York City’s ban on large, sugary drinks.
In a move to prevent such regulations from taking hold elsewhere, Mississippi legislators have passed an “anti-Bloomberg bill” that bars counties from passing and enacting laws that require calorie counts to be posted or caps the size of beverages or foods. You can read it here.
The Washington Post points out that Mississippi already has one of the country’s highest obesity rates.
I feel the need to add: Who cares?
That’s freedom, baby.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on March 12, 2013 at 10:27pmWrong, DJ, there is such a thing as supremacy. The purpose of supremacy is to prevent states and municipalities from restricting citizens’ rights. It’s not “bullying” if the state is protecting its residents from arbitrary and oppressive laws.

Posted on March 12, 2013 at 5:44pmWrong, Ms. Jessup. Telling local governments that they can’t require calorie disclosures on foods is anti-freedom. It’s the state government bullying counties and cities around and tying their legislative hands. You know, kind of like the Federal government bullying state governments around and saying they can’t legalize marijuana or regulate vehicle emission standards?

Posted on March 13, 2013 at 3:26pmDJ, your post is a joke, right? Satire? The mayor of a town can bully and browbeat and fine citizens from selling and people for ordering and drinking whatever size soda they damn well please but trying to prevent this fascism is bullying???!! Get your empty head out of your ****.
And states that legalize marijuana are violating federal law just as you hypocrites on the left claim that AZ violated Fed law deciding to enforce (not change) immigration laws. Be consistent at least, idiot.
