President Obama began his so-called “charm offensive” last week with a dinner with a dozen Senate Republicans. It continues today with a series of four Capitol Hill visits to meet with congressional leaders to foster bipartisanship on a range of issues, particularly a budget deal.
The sticky sweetness apparently isn’t really Obama’s thing, but he’s doing it anyway…
From the New York Times:
Aides say Mr. Obama will continue his outreach even if the phone calls and other overtures can “feel fake to him,” in the words of one associate.
