Talk radio host and CNN contributor Dana Loesch said at CPAC today that the event’s organizers should have allowed the gay Republican group GOProud to sponsor the event.
“I like the guys in GOProud,” she told TheBlaze. “I’m one of those people that if we can find 80 percent of things we can agree on it, then let’s do that. And after we accomplish those things, we’ll fight like hell over the 20 percent.”
Some conservatives have spoken out against CPAC for preventing GOProud, for the second year, from sponsoring the event. GOProud sponsored CPAC twice before in 2010 and 2011. TheBlaze TV’s S.E. Cupp was invited to speak at CPAC but chose to boycott the event after GOProud wasn’t allowed to sponsor.
Loesch added, however… that “it’s a free country” and CPAC organizers “are going to run it how they want.”
“More voices, not less, that’s the key. And I hope people remember that going forward,” she said.
CPAC has also been criticized by high profile Republicans like Newt Gingrich for not featuring New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) as a speaker.

Mar. 15, 2013 at 9:22amyeah, I no longer care for SE after her little “boycott”……having said that, we have many friends who are gay….I have told them I don’t agree with it, however, we still love them as friends…….they don’t throw it in our face and we respect each other…..the one thing however that I am absolutely against, is marriage….they can have a civil service, however, marriage is between a man and woman….but we should include them if they agree with us on the other things…….it sounds like they aren’t trying to “change” the republican party, but we are trying to “change” them…….let them in

Mar. 14, 2013 at 3:40pmAfter watching both women opine for the last year, my observation is that Dana and S.E. come from totally different places in their views on social values. Dana takes the more direct route while S.E. seems to deliberately take a path with self imposed hurdles to clear. I like them both, but never have understood why S.E. chooses to make her journey so difficult.

Mar. 14, 2013 at 3:22pmDana Loesch uses a much more classy way of going about expressing your opinion than S.E. Cupp did!
I am glad that CPAC is standing by its principles. – It is a FREE country. Strong-arming those of us to stand for socially conservative principles is not the way to go.

Mar. 15, 2013 at 8:42amThat’s because Dana didn’t act like a holier-than-thou snob by wagging her finger at Conservatives for the amusement of her Liberal colleagues.
I still kinda like S.E., but she lost a lot of respect with how she went about expressing her views on the subject. Honestly, I think she should apologize.
