Earlier I posted the tales of woe of Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Jim Moran who fret about losing one of their $100k/year staffers. Twitter took the news with as pessimistic sarcasm as I did and Twitchy was there to capture some of the best #SaveTheStaffers mockery.
Here are just a few:
I heard @dwstweets‘ Chief of Staff had to eat dinner at Outback instead of The Palm. This isn’t the America I grew up in. #SaveDebbiesStaff

Poor babies. Maybe we can sponsor them, get Sally Struthers to make an ad about it. @jimmiebjr @dwstweets#SaveTheStaffers

Ad copy: “Every day, a congressional aide risks having to bring his lunch from home. Please help.” #SaveTheStaffers @jimmiebjr @dwstweets

@laura_ph For just thirty dollars a day, you can adopt a staffer’s venti latte, ribeye sandwich, and tiramisu.@jimmiebjr @dwstweets

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Mar. 23, 2013 at 7:23pmI eat the same thing every day for lunch and spend less than $15/week on it. Turkey sandwich, potato chips, banana, and water. If my healthcare premiums didn’t go up $40 dollars every month, thanks to a bill that Blabbermouth-Shulz didn’t read, I might be able to afford to get take-out for lunch every now and again.

Mar. 23, 2013 at 1:06pmLook you crazy entitled narcissist, get real. I’m out of job in a month because of sequestration and you’re worried about having to cut back on your entitlements that I’ve been paying for. I guess you’ll have to do without your enslaved staffer. No sympathy here.

Mar. 23, 2013 at 10:53amDear Debbie and staff:
What I have seen at the grocery store:
2 bikers with a couple of thousand dollars worth of tattoos using their EBT for food and a wad of cash for their beer and smokes;
AND
An elderly lady in clothing from 20 years ago pricing bologna;
AND
A father with two little ones in tow with a cart full of hotdogs and boxed macaroni;
Guess which ones remind me of you?
Sincerely,
A.Taxpayer

Mar. 23, 2013 at 8:47amSo, she pays her ‘staff’ upwards of $500K per year, she’s one of 550+/- members of congress who ALL also have a ‘staff’, but the White House tours and the Easter Egg Hunt are too expensive??
Remember, every dollar the government spends comes from you, the taxpayer

Mar. 22, 2013 at 6:14pmWill Debbie continue dining at the Forge, one of the most expensive restaurants in South Florida? Will she keep her new Corvette? Better question is, “Why is her husband driving a new Corvette with congressioanl plates and her initials ?”
