Sen. Rand Paul could be a potential presidential contender and adversary for Hillary Clinton in 2016, but for now he says the focus should be on the current scandal surrounding the 9/11 Benghazi terror attack — something that reflects a “terrible and tragic error” of judgment by Clinton and President Obama.

Democrats have criticized Republicans for making a political “sideshow” of the investigation — a notion Paul rejected. “Whether it has political overtones or not,” Paul told CNN over the weekend, “it really goes to the heart of who you are as secretary of state if you do not provide security to an embassy that’s begging for it.”
