Santorum slams Republicans on working class outreach

Washington, D.C.– Former presidential candidate Rick Santorum (R) slapped at the Republican Party Thursday night, saying it has focused too much on reaching business owners and not the rest of the working class, like janitors and waitresses.

“All we do is talk to people who are owners, who are type A and want their business to succeed,” he said at the Road to Majority Conference, hosted by the conservative Faith and Freedom Coalition. “We’re not talking to the people. … No wonder they don’t think we care about them.”

Santorum’s speech was in part a swipe at Mitt Romney, who beat Santorum for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. “I won’t go back and revisit the election and who was the better candidate to do that,” Santorum said.
