“Cover Oregon,” the state’s new campaign to raise awareness of the so-called Affordable Care Act and state health insurance exchange, is investing in song to spread its message. According to the Washington Post, the campaign’s newest ads featuring musical artists and hipsters are the product of a $3 million contract with Portland-based advertising agency North.
“We chose to build a strategy to make sure people became aware of the name and to start the conversation,” North creative director Mark Ray recently told the Washington Post. “We want to help people understand this program is about Oregonians taking care of Oregonians, so that people understand this is a celebration of something that will benefit a lot of people.”
So fear not, Oregonians. If you’re confused about Obamacare and how it may impact you and your family, rest assured that your tax dollars are being used to
lull you to sleep ease you into the controversial reform law.
