This is one of those rare-but-amusing headline & photo mashups that make you scratch your head and wonder what were they thinking?

In this case, the UK Guardian offers political opponents of Wendy Davis some humorous red meat to chew on today:

Wendy Davis right to life advocate? Seriously?

But what really made this Guardian article notable is how they portray Davis, the pink sneakers-wearing Texas state senator who filibustered for abortion rights.  Instead, the Guardian identifies Davis for having ”gained national fame for her efforts on right-to-life issues.”

After a wave of outrage, the Guardian has amended this description, swapping “efforts on right-to-life issues” to “her stand on reproductive rights.”
