During a televised Presidential debate between then-candidate Ronald Reagan and President Jimmy Carter in October of 1980, Reagan delivered a verbal punch that has been called a turning point in the election.

The telegenic actor-turned-politician looked into the camera and said, ”Next Tuesday all of you will go to the polls, will stand there in the polling place and make a decision. I think when you make that decision, it might be well if you would ask yourself, are you better off than you were four years ago?”

A slightly simpler form of that question is at the heart TheBlaze Radio’s Doc Thompson and Skip LaCombe’s video aimed at voters all across America. In the 1:09 second clip, the radio hosts just ask, “Are you better off?”

Thompson and LaCombe point to some in Congress who have been in elected office for decades. If you were thinking that the video would spotlight a group of Democrats who have keep being elected over, you would be incorrect. In the video, Mitch McConnell, John McCain and John Boehner are all prominently featured.

After you watch the short video, Doc and Skip are hoping that you will ask the question when you talk with friends and neighbors about the upcoming midterm election.
