Politico reports that the Clinton camp and its various proxies including Media Matters are none too pleased with a trio of recent books on the family.

A joint statement from spokesmen for Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton characterizes three titles: Ed Klein’s “Blood Feud,” Daniel Halper’s “Clinton, Inc.” and the soon-to-be-released Ronald Kessler’s “The First Family Detail: Secret Service Agents Reveal the Hidden Lives of the Presidents,” as being “an insult to readers [and] authors…[that] should be reserved for the fiction bin, if not the trash.”

The statement also challenges the character of the authors themselves. It reads:

With Klein, Halper and [author Ronald] Kessler, we now have a Hat Trick of despicable actors concocting trashy nonsense for a quick buck, at the expense of anything even remotely resembling the truth.

Their behavior should neither be allowed nor enabled, and legitimate media outlets who know with every fiber of their being that this is complete crap should know not to get down in the gutter with them and spread their lies. But if anyone isn’t sure, let’s strap all three to a polygraph machine on live TV and let the needle tell the truth.

Ed Klein’s bookwhich ranks higher than Hillary Clinton’s “Hard Choices” on the New York Times bestseller list, contains a number of salacious revelations about the alleged feud between the Clintons and Obamas. ”Blood Feud” has been subject to substantial criticism in light of its lack of sourcing and general historical bipartisan questioning of the author’s veracity.

Daniel Halper’s book focuses on how the Clintons rebuilt their political machine after Bill Clinton left the White House largely disgraced following his impeachment and a slew of questionable last-minute pardons. Halper has been attacked by Clinton aides in the very fashion he outlines in his book, a portion of which focuses on the Clinton’s various attack dogs who seek to quell criticism and dissent. Below is our coverage of Halper’s book:

Ronald Kessler’s book, which is due out on August 5, is likely included in the Clinton’s list due to the embarrassing allegations of Bill Clinton’s continued extra-marital dalliances that were recently leaked based on portions of his book. Kessler is a New York Times bestselling author who has written 20 non-fiction books about the Secret Service, FBI and CIA, according to his Amazon profile.

The Politico article notes that radio host and author Aaron Klein’s, “The REAL Benghazi Story: What the White House and Hillary Don’t Want You to Know,” out September 9, is also being targeted by the Clinton/Media Matters offensive.

In a separate but related story, the Washington Free Beacon writes that former Clinton administration press secretary Mike McCurry “is quietly waging a campaign to quash coverage on a new tell-all book [Daniel Halper's "Clinton, Inc."] that exposes Bill and Hillary Clinton’s massive political empire.”

The article alleges that McCurry blocked Politico’s media reporter, Dylan Byers, from writing about “Clinton, Inc.,” based on emails the Free Beacon has obtained.

Neither McCurry nor Byers responded when asked for comment by the Free Beacon.
