America is in danger of moral bankruptcy.
We just pasted the 40th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade while in the midst of a passionate debate on gun control. But due to moral bankruptcy neither side of either debate can see their own hypocrisy through the guise of freedom.
Let’s begin with, “Freedom,” as defined in the dictionary; “1. The absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action. 2. liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another : independence 3. The quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous. 4. The quality of being frank, open, or outspoken 5. Boldness of conception or execution. 6. Unrestricted use 7. A political right.” That being said let’s apply it to both sides of each controversy.
From the side that does not want gun control based on the second amendment we also hear they want abortion to once again be illegal. So let’s get this straight, we have the right to choose what we buy but not the right to choose what we do with our bodies. We don’t want government telling us what to do except for certain items of our liking? It needs to be either we want government to legislate our lives or we don’t. Legislation has evolved because, “We the People,” have become so morally bankrupt that we can’t seem to run our own lives properly. Abortion is between an individual and their creator not an individual and their legislator. Should we make taking the Flu shot mandatory by law?
Conversely the pro-abortion side tends to believe in gun control. So again we have the right to choose what to do with our bodies but not the right to buy what ever we please in a free market. Should we make it law to buy and use condoms? The government should not tell us what to do with our bodies, but should tell us what to buy? There is common ground in the, “Hypocrisy Zone,” of both sides and it is that murder is a post birth abortion. As let’s say an individual might perform with a gun, (weapon). Or as an individual might perform with a knife, (abortionist with a scalpel.)
Moral bankruptcy is our foe, not the right or the left. We have become so polarized by party, race, gender, and whatever excuse we choose to hide behind when it comes to ignoring the reality of our own moral shortcomings. You can’t cure the lack of desire to better one’s self by passing laws. The desire comes from self-esteem, and self-esteem comes from a strong moral compass and setting and achieving goals. You and only you make life’s choices and the consequences there of. You either seek education or you don’t, you either seek self-reliance or you seek dependency.
Our forefathers didn’t want our freedoms infringed by government dictating our ever action. If we cannot be a nation of people who make the right choices we will surely become a nation of chaos and mayhem, which is the direction we have been headed for decades. In their zeal to oppose each other, the right and the left have lost their way in the “Hypocrisy Zone.”
