Charlotte public schools have banished the terms “boy” and “girl” from their classrooms.
The new transgender-affirming policy allows students to select their own gender and then choose the bathroom (although that part is on hold for now), extracurricular activity, sport, etc., that best fits whatever label they happen to identify with at the moment. Boys will even be permitted to take part in “all-girl” overnight excursions, so long as they become girls for the duration of the trip. Of course, the studious observer might wonder how a boy can identify as a girl if we aren’t allowed to call people girls anymore. Gender fluidity may allow a boy to not be a boy, but it also makes it impossible for him to be a girl, considering that both designations no longer mean anything.
If you’re confused about how this works, the school system has provided a handy “gender unicorn” to explain everything. I wish I could say I made that up, but I did not. Students in the greater Charlotte area will actually be learning about gender from a gender unicorn. The gender unicorn is just like a regular unicorn, except this one is purple, has a tattoo on its crotch, and it wants to talk to your kids about sex. It’s truly the stuff of nightmares. The weird, drug induced nightmares of a mentally deranged pedophile. Luckily, the molester unicorn comes accompanied by a chart, which illustrates how “gender identity,” “gender presentation,” romantic attraction, and sexual attraction (all different things, evidently) exist on a spectrum that stretches out unending into the infinite universe.
As a side note, I did a little research into the gender unicorn — this is how I spend my days as a blogger — and I discovered that it was provided to Charlotte, and to many other schools across the nation, by a left wing extremist group called Trans Student Educational Resources (TSER). The gender unicorn is a somewhat new creation, apparently. The mascot for progressive gender theory used to be the Genderbread Person, but schools stopped using Mr. Genderbread when it was revealed that the individual who created him plagiarized it from “intersectionally marginalized people,” whatever in God’s name that means. Even worse, TSER tells us that the Genderbread chart made reference to “biological sex,” which, they say, is “harmful to trans people” because it is “an ambiguous word that has no scale and no meaning besides that it is related to some sex characteristics.”

Did anything in the previous paragraph make sense to you? If you’re a normal and rational human being, probably not. Are you comfortable with the idea that your kids are learning that the term “biological sex” is “harmful” and “ambiguous”? If you’re a good parent, definitely not.
Nevertheless, kids in Charlotte, and in countless schools beyond Charlotte, are ingesting a steady diet of this kind of lunacy. They’re being indoctrinated into pagan superstitions and preyed upon by psychologically abusive predators who wish to pollute their minds and rob their innocence and their moral sanity. They’re learning — and by the millions, beginning to believe — that every aspect of their identity is subjective. There’s nothing solid or definite or unchangeable about them. They can be whatever and whoever they want, in whatever combination they prefer, for however long. It can change by the year or the week or the day or the minute. Once they jump aboard the gender unicorn, they can fly off to a fantasy land where their identity can be swapped out and discarded as quickly as they change their pants. They can be gods, constantly creating and uncreating and recreating themselves all over again. There is no man. There is no woman. There is no reality in this new reality.
If you have kids in public school, you ought to be very worried right now. We’re losing an entire generation to this madness. It seems to happen on an increasingly regular basis that I receive a heart-wrenching email from a distraught parents whose son came home from school one day and announced that he’s now their daughter, or vice versa. He was sent to school to learn his ABCs, and instead they turned him into a girl. It’s hard to believe that this is happening, but it is. Time to face it.
There may indeed be some instances of “transgenderism” that stem from a legitimate mental illness, but most of these suddenly gender fluid kids aren’t mentally disordered. They were turned. They were converted. These delusions were fostered in them, instilled in their minds by propaganda and peer pressure. Kids who feel lonely and lost make easy targets for the LGBT cult — and it is a cult. It’s the most powerful cult in America, and it has the schools and the government on its side. And in public school, it has a never ending supply of lonely and lost children to prey upon.
I’ve spent plenty of time discussing why progressive gender theory is wrong. Honestly, I think most of that energy has been wasted. I’m trying to make my case using facts, science, and logic, but liberalism has immunized itself against all three of those threats by simply rejecting the idea that facts, science, and logic belong anywhere near the gender/sexuality discussion. All that matters, liberals say, is what a person feels. They argue entirely on the basis of emotion, and it is notoriously difficult to defeat an emotion with a fact.
I’m going to skip over that argument, then, and make a point that’s almost always neglected: What’s happening to our children in these schools is a violation of their basic human rights. I’m not just talking about the female student whose rights are trampled when the sick perverts who come up with these policies force her to change or use the bathroom in front of a boy. That’s bad enough as it is. But to put these lies in their heads in the first place; to intentionally cause such terrible confusion in their minds and their hearts; to indoctrinate children into the most radical and fantastic and deranged ideas about sex and gender; to deprive them of the opportunity to learn even the very basic truths about life and about themselves — that is a violation of their rights. It is systematic child abuse, and it’s the primary reason why I could not, at this point, send my kids to public school.
This is not like the good old days when you simply had to worry that your daughter’s history teacher might betray a bit of a left wing bias when they get to the lesson on the Founding Fathers or the Crusades, or that her health teacher would show her inappropriate images of STD-riddled genitalia, or whatever other stupid thing we’ve all grown accustom to. We can still count on those annoyances, sure, but it’s not too terribly difficult to deprogram our kids if that’s as far as the indoctrination goes. But it doesn’t end there anymore. It goes much, much deeper.
How can we possibly expect a child to emerge mentally and spiritually intact when he just endured about 13,000 hours of radical LGBT conditioning? How can we expect him to come out with his head on straight when he just spent all of his formative years in an environment where there is no such thing as “boys” and “girls”? How can we expect him to even know which way is up when he just served a 12 year sentence in some kind of dystopian State-run brainwashing facility?
I’m often told that, even if the schools are now explicitly encouraging third graders to become cross dressing homosexuals, we should still send our children into such a hellish spiritual minefield so that they can be lights in the darkness. Jesus calls us to be missionaries, I’m reminded, and so it would be wrong to “withdrawal from the world.” We must minister to the lost, show them Christ, lead the way, etc.
That is all true, of course. But there’s one problem: Jesus gave that commission to adults. My children, on the other hand, are not adults. They aren’t ready to be missionaries. By the time they’re 5 years old, they will not be equipped to charge headfirst into battle and fight the good fight, even as they’re attacked at every turn by the LGBT lobby and some of their teachers and many of their peers and the federal government. They will not be strong enough to withstand the constant, unrelenting stream of lies and falsehoods that will assault their innocent, unformed minds every second of the day. They must be molded and shaped and made strong in the truth first. That takes time. I can’t get it all done by the time they finish potty training, for God’s sake. And to send them into war before they’ve been sufficiently trained and armed is foolish. It’s a suicide mission.
Consider how quickly many adults have been taken in by even the most extreme left wing doctrines. Most grown ups I meet are basically incapable of explaining why the left is wrong about “transgenderism,” and even fewer have the courage to oppose the narrative publicly. Yet we expect kindergartners to have the intelligence and the fortitude to take that stand? We expect kids to accept the shame and social alienation that come as a result of their allegiance to God and truth? We expect them to succeed where whole generations of adults have failed so miserably? We expect them to embrace the hatred of their peers and their superiors for the sake of their faith, when most of us won’t even be open about our beliefs on Facebook for fear of the rude comments and disapproving emojis? We expect a kid in fourth grade to have the courage and wherewithal that most adults in their forties have never shown? No. That’s not fair. It’s unreasonable. It’s too much to ask of a child. It’s just too much to ask.
Our kids deserve better. They have a right to something better. It’s as simple as that.
