Why Are All the Leftist Politicians Who Hate the Rich…So Filthy Rich?

Wayne Allyn Root is a Capitalist Evangelist, entrepreneur, and Libertarian-conservative Republican. Wayne began his career as a sports handicapper, and has gone on to host and appear on many of the biggest television and radio news networks including: FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, CNBC, and radio shows like Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Jerry Doyle and Mancow Muller. He is a former Libertarian vice presidential nominee. Wayne's latest book is out on April 15, 2013: "The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide: Secrets to Protecting Your Family, Your Finances, and Your Freedom."

Have you ever noticed how almost all the leftist politicians who hate and want to punish the rich with draconian tax increases…are filthy rich themselves? Confusing, isn’t it?

Actually, once you know the truth it’s really quite easy to understand.

Take France’s new Socialist President Francois Hollande. He never stops talking about his dislike and disgust for the rich. He is almost more obsessed with hate for the rich than Obama is. Yet it turns out Hollande is…drumroll please…filthy rich himself.

That’s right. Socialist Holland owns not one, not two, but three homes in Cannes on the French Riviera. Unbelievable.

In America let’s think of the biggest haters of the rich. Obama is now filthy rich. He has been since selling his autobiography after getting elected to the U.S. Senate, and buying a $2,000,000 Chicago home (with help from a convicted felon). Once Obama leaves the White House (hopefully soon), he’ll spend the rest of his life getting paid millions for books and $200,000 a pop for speeches to the business groups he hates so much.

Bill and Hillary Clinton hate the rich. They left the White House broke and owing millions in legal fees. After quickly capitalizing with books, speeches and foundations they turned zero into an $80,000,000 fortune in a few short years. I’ve never heard of a job like that. I’m not referring to being President. I’m referring to hating the rich. It seems to magically make you…filthy rich.

Al Gore is far richer than his old boss, Bill Clinton. Gore the bore is worth about one billion dollars from his TV network, documentaries and stock options. All of that wealth is based on disliking the rich, and trying to tax them to death in order to save the world from global warming. But Gore uses more energy on one trip in his private jet than all of us do in a decade of driving. And Al’s 20,000 square foot mansion uses more electricity in a year than most of us pay for rent in a decade. And, don’t forget Al started out the privileged son of a U.S. Senator.

Or take New York’s disgraced ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer. The great anti-business, anti-Wall Street crusader never bothered to disclose that his daddy owns half the buildings on Manhattan’s Fifth Ave. I’ve never owned one building in my life, yet I fight for capitalism every day. I am a capitalist evangelist. Yet someone whose daddy practically owns the world’s most exclusive avenue takes great pleasure in putting self-made rich men in prison. Do you see the irony there? Do you see the pattern?

These people are hypocrites of the highest order. They are angry and guilty for having never earned a dime of their own fortunes. By dumb luck they were dropped down the right chimney, lucky sperm club members who had everything handed to them.

So, they hate self-made rich people. Self-made men and women remind them of what they are not. They remind them of the wealth they never earned. Remind them of the deep-seated guilt they feel every day of their lives. Remind them, but for the grace of God, they could (and probably would) be riding a bus in the Bronx, headed to a blue collar job.

That’s why leftist politicians (and lawyers, media and the Hollywood elite) hate the self-made rich so much. Because they never earned their own money- and they know it.

I figured it out 30 years ago in college. I was Obama’s classmate at Columbia University, Class of ’83, a blue-collar, middle class, S.O.B. (son of a butcher) surrounded by filthy-rich, spoiled brats. Almost all my classmates were sons and daughters of privilege. They went to the fanciest prep schools, vacationed in Europe, lived in mansions on leafy streets in legendary towns from Great Neck to Sutton Place to Beverly Hills. Yet they all hated the rich. They wanted to bring down capitalism.

“Woe is me.” They were pitiful and pathetic in their white guilt. Their act to make believe they weren’t the luckiest, most spoiled, and privileged bunch in the world made me ill.

Nothing has changed in 30 years. The rich kids I met at Columbia hated the rich because they were embarrassed by the tens or hundreds of millions they had without deserving or earning it. Today they are the mainstream media, the leftist D.C politicians, and the donors that support them.

They still hate the rich. They just never disclose to anyone how rich they were on the day they were born, how every door has been opened, how everything has been handed to them their entire lives, and how every failure has been papered over with mommy and daddy’s money.

That’s the secret. Show me a self-made man or woman and I’ll show you a fiscal conservative. I’ll show you someone that is proud of their success and feels they deserve to keep more of their own money.

But show me a leftist politician who hates the rich, and 95% of the time I’ll show you spoiled brats who inherited their wealth, power and connections.

And the other 5% of leftists (like the Obama’s and Clintons) got filthy rich by attacking the rich. That turns out to be a very lucrative business.

this piece misses the point…if they weren’t rich they wouldn’t be qualified to lord over us and make sure that we don’t contaminate their domain. try to get it right next time with the proper deference for the challenges they face thwarting our goals, aspirations and freedom.

It’s true, it’s a lucrative racket being a liberal these days……the media will make you a star if you just say you’re pro-choice, anti-rich and support gay marriage.

Excellent thoughts and well written article. I’ve said it all along. Filthy rich libs and country club Republican elitists are of the same cloth. Those born into wealth have done nothing to earn it and wouldn’t know how to keep it so they have no problems spending it and downing it since they did nothing to attain it. They want to bring down capitalism so no one else has the opportunity to be “self- made” and as wealthy or wealthier than they are. Apparently, the average American’s ability to create and make their own wealth is unacceptable to the liberals and elitists because they do not want the competition. That is why they want to break the American Dream, the small business owner, and the spirit of the average, hardworking, and capable American citizen. Their white guilt overruns them and they fear us.

It could be all of the above, or it could all just boil down to one word – PROJECTION. Progressives are masters of projection. They love to accuse everyone else of being or doing what they themselves are or are doing. For example, they love to accuse Conservatives of being “fat cats” when they are the fattest cats on the block!

Actually this helps to fill in an argument I have been working on.. Have you ever noticed that Progressive policies are always claimed to tax or restrict the rich, yet in the end fall solidly on the middle class?( think of the inheritance tax, or the recent tax increase on income producing investments, Hello retirees with 401k”s) If the wealthy Progressives ” shut down the Capitalist system” they slam shut the door to any and all of ” the little people” becoming wealthy and thereby secure their own power and position.

Exactly. It’s about preserving the privilege, for the most part, the guilt aspect is remotely secondary.
As one liberal “lady” said to me: “What’s the point of being rich when anyone can become one?”

Guilt + insatiable lust for power + plus mental defect* = liberal.

Mental Illness, plain and simple. Power, money, authority, and control. The more they have, the more they want. Especially if it belongs to someone else. Truly a sickness.

    ” I am a capitalist evangelist.”
You are actually not–you may be a PRO-capitalist evangelist, but unless you make the majority of your income through rents extracted from the ownership of capital goods, you are not a capitalist.
“By dumb luck they were dropped down the right chimney, lucky sperm club members who had everything handed to them.”
Not unlike capitalists, whom upon acquiring sufficient wealth can set up a trust fund that is self-sustaining by hiring people who DO do real work, figuring out the most efficient ways to extract rents from the ownership of capital goods via purchasing and trading titular ownership–so you are FOR the inheritance tax?

Rent-seekers are a part and parcel of any economic-political system. There is nothing specifically capitalistic about it in principle, just the means change with the system. The libs, being risk-averse, are the exemplary rent-seekers.

      So let me understand this.

If I buy a house for $250,000 and then rent it out for $1200 a month to people who can’t afford to pay $250,000 right now… some how I’m a bad person for putting a roof over their head at a price they can afford?

Or are you saying I AM a bad person unless I buy the house, rent it to them for free and pay all their utilities as well?

So, it would be preferable to you if business owners won’t hire anyone?
Why do you think that business owners have a higher occurrences of stress related ailments? From twiddling their thumbs? Or venture capitalists don’t carry any risks as return on investment is concerned? I know quite a few and for most it is not just the money, it is their expertise to get he businesses of the ground and running and seeing it succeed.

Have you ever run a business, even a small one? Apparently not, else you won’t regurgitate your marxist professor tripe. You’d know that to get to the “rent”, it may take years of hard work, 60+ hours a week while your employees work 40 and have weekends free, without any worries.

Your myopic ideas are akin to a flatlander meeting a 3-d entity.

Nah, conservatives are against the inheritance tax. In fact, we think the liberals should get to keep theirs too. No one is arguing that. We’d like to see them just as rich and prosperous as anyone.

We just wish they wouldn’t hate themselves so much for having their money. And we certainly wish they’d stop trying to convince the working man that OTHER rich people are their problem (a few of the hypocrites that come to mind are Roseanne Barr, Al Gore, Van Jones, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Moore, Susan Sarrandon, Warren Buffett, Barack Obama, Bill Maher, Frances Fox Piven, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc., etc., etc.)

The real enemy is not jealousy. It’s sloth. It’s apathy. It’s people worrying more about what the other guy has than what they’re going to do with their OWN life today.

The filthy rich that are against the rich do not see themselves ever being harmed by any legislation directed toward them.

There will almost certainly be exemptions for the multi-billionaire who is just trying to get by in retirement.

If you are not-so-rich that you still have to work for your money, you/we will be the targets of any legislation that comes. The next target will be anyone who has a job…..any job.

Actually, the leftist rich people engineer the tax code such that their investments and revenue streams are not taxed. That leaves suckers that actually have earned income paying for it all. Ever wonder why capital gains taxes are 15%? Or that tax free munis are tax free? Or that real estate has such favorable tax shelters? The reason is that those income sources are the primary income sources of the wealthy, and are what is handed down most often in inheritances.

In a leftists mind, their wealth is simply the means by which they control others, through favors, political deals, lobbying, and insider information. They believe its their right to rule, and they naturally look down on those who are self made “nouveau riche”. Leftists are merely an extension of the age of aristocracy, who see people as things to be traded, controlled, and as lesser people.
