"A grizzly is unpredictable -- and we've got the mother of them all."

Sarah Palin is getting a new reality TV show on the Sportsman Channel, the network announced Monday.

"Amazing America with Sarah Palin" will debut in April and take viewers through what the channel described as "Red, Wild and Blue America" -- "where the American Spirit and the Great Outdoors are celebrated in equal measure," a network statement said.

"From everyday people to business leaders and celebrities; in cities, suburbs and towns ... Palin ... will find the stories of people and places that share and reflect her passion for what makes America the great, amazing nation that it is," the network said.

Promotional images for the new series riff on Palin's self-applied "mama grizzly" label: "A grizzly is unpredictable -- and we've got the mother of them all."

"I'm excited to help shine a light on all the great American sportsmen and women in the country who live the outdoors lifestyle," the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said in a statement provided by the network. "Sportsman Channel is the leader in their industry and I am thrilled to be partnering with them on this show."

Palin, also a commentator for Fox News, previously hosted the short-lived outdoors series "Sarah Palin's Alaska" on the TLC network in 2010.

“Governor Palin is one of America’s most popular leaders, whose powerful love of country and passion for the great outdoors is inspiring to millions and millions of people,” Sportsman Channel CEO Gavin Harvey said in a statement. “As a sportswoman, humanitarian and patriot who has visited every corner of the USA, there is no one more qualified to host Amazing America than Sarah Palin.”

The Sportsman Channel has ordered 12 episodes of the series to start, the Associated Press reported.
