Unlike past years, 2014's Conservative Political Action Conference has been all but absent of gay issues. No panels dedicated to same-sex marriage or the impact gays are having on American society.

There was even some hubbub ahead of the event about gay Republicans being newly welcomed to attend (if not sponsor as a group).
Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) made a name for himself running for president in 2012 as a culture warrior defending traditional values, and opposing same-sex marriage.
He's scheduled to speak at CPAC here in National Harbor, Md., and TheBlaze Blog ran into him as he was touring the convention area of the Gaylord hotel, greeting supporters.
We asked what he makes of the event's supposed new tone on gay issues. He didn't seem too thrilled.
"I don't have any comments," he said. "I just showed up. I have no idea what's going on at CPAC. I'm gonna give my speech and I'm gonna leave."
