We Are England, 1939': Russia's Potential 'Next Target' That Some Say Could Lead to 'Real War

"He's going to keep doing what he does until somebody stops him."

TheBlaze's national security adviser Buck Sexton warned Monday that Russia's ambitions may not stop at the border of Ukraine.

"[Russian President Vladimir Putin] is the bully who hasn't been punched in the nose yet," Sexton, a former CIA officer, remarked on The Glenn Beck Program. "He's going to keep doing what he does until somebody stops him."

Sexton speculated that Latvia could be Russia's "next target," because it has a large Russian-speaking population and many non-citizen Latvians who are ethnically Russian. He said Russia knows it can exploit the situation the same way it did with Ukraine.

"And then it becomes a question of, do we uphold our NATO obligations?" Sexton continued. "That happens, Glenn, I think there's a big war. Not just a 'sort of' war  -- there's a real war."

Beck sighed and said: "I feel like we are England, 1939. We're just not prepared for that. I mean, who is prepared for that? Besides Russia and China."

Sexton agreed, saying "the will to go to war for this kind of thing certainly doesn't exist in the U.S. population right now." But, he added, if we don't uphold our NATO obligations, the world knows "we don't uphold any obligations."

The interview aired around 2:30 in the segment below.
