What the Woman 'A Lot More' Native American Than Elizabeth Warren Thinks About the Redskins Decision

"Flies in the face of all sanity."

TheBlaze TV's Dana Loesch on Wednesday tore into the U.S. Patent Office's ruling that the name "Washington Redskins" is disparaging of Native Americans, and that the team’s federal trademarks for the name must be canceled.

Joking that she is "a lot more" Native American than U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who famously described herself as a minority because "family lore" led her to believe she is 1/32 Cherokee, Loesch said she is about 3/8 Native American.

"Do these people -- do progressives not watch sports?" Loesch began on The Glenn Beck Program. "Mascots are something that is supposed to be revered. They're supposed to be something that strikes fear into the heart of your opponent!"

"You don't have the Washington pansies," she added. "You have the Washington Redskins."

Beck added that the name was originally chosen as a sign of respect and admiration for the team's first coach, Lone Star Dietz, and that 9 out of ten Native Americans reportedly do not find the name offensive.

Beck said the ruling by the U.S. Patent Office "flies in the face of all sanity," and could not believe U.S. senators have actually "wasted their time on the naming of an NFL football team."

Beck said that since government officials seem to pay so much attention to the names of football teams, the Redskins should consider changing their name to the "Washington Lost Emails" or the "Washington Vets" to attract their attention to more important matters. Another possibility Beck suggested was the "Washington 80 bucks to fill up my damn gas tank."

"The United States government only seems to notice NFL football team names, and not actual issues of more importance around the globe that threaten peace, stability, and the very existence of the western way of life," Beck remarked scornfully.

Back in October, Beck aired a segment on the history behind the name "Washington Redskins," and he re-aired the clip on Wednesday. You can watch it below:
