Good Samaritan Thought He Spotted Damsel in Distress Needing Ride, But What She Allegedly Did After May Prove She Was Quite the Opposite
August 14, 2014
An intoxicated Pennsylvania woman who asked a stranger for a ride home robbed the good samaritan who volunteered for the task late last month, police said.
John Orsinger was driving his truck after midnight when he encountered what he thought was a blonde damsel in distress, KDKA-TV reported.
The woman, 22-year-old Heidi Isabella Corey, was drunk and upset, a criminal complaint reportedly said.
Corey told Orsinger that her boyfriend had taken her car keys and that she was in need of a ride home.
Orsinger agreed to give her a lift, but first had to stop for gas.
As he was inside paying, the 22-year-old woman allegedly stole roughly $250 from Orsinger. She then took off.
According to KDKA, police were able to later track Corey after she used Orsinger's cellphone to make a phone call.
Corey is scheduled to appear in court on September 19 for a preliminary hearing on the theft charge, The Tribune-Review reported.
