16-Year-Old Girl Writes Tragic Final Facebook Post Right Before Her Death

"...I don't think they've learned anything."

A 16-year-old girl in Henderson County, North Carolina, reportedly posted a heartbreaking Facebook message just before she committed suicide at Christmas time. Family and friends claim relentless bullying likely drove the girl to take her own life.

In her final Facebook post, Amber Cornwell reportedly wondered if she died that night, “Would anyone cry?”

The teenager was later found dead after seemingly hanging herself in a closet. The girl’s grieving parents had to bury their daughter on the day after Christmas, WLOS-TV reports.

The 16-year-old was reportedly an honor roll student, tennis player, dancer, and member of the All County Chorus.

Many are hoping Cornwell’s tragic suicide will result in more awareness about the devastating impact bullying can have on victims.

One of the girl’s close friends, Sierra Crochet, told WLOS-TV that bullies would call Cornwell names and tell her “she had no future and had nothing going for her.”

Another friend said her bullies have “shed a few tears but I don't think they've learned anything.”
