Beck says this is the key to connecting with young voters

Glenn Beck addressed the importance of connecting with young voters on Wednesday, saying the issue of freedom is key.

"I think Libertarian ideas based on the Constitution are the right ideas that will connect to people," he said on his television program. "[But if] you say 'the Constitution' their eyes will roll back in their head. But if you talk about freedom ... that's something entirely different."

Beck said the youth instinctively know they shouldn't have to ask permission and cut through endless red tape if they want to build something beneficial to everyone.

"This is the key to everything," Matt Kibbe, the former president of FreedomWorks, agreed. "If we don't connect with young people and get them to realize that they share the same fundamental values that we do, we've lost everything."

"We have to skip some of the tribal language," Kibbe added. "When we say, 'Defend the Constitution,' they're hearing something totally different. We have to talk about the values in the Constitution."
