Former NFL Quarterback Tim Tebow Was Walking Down a Different Kind of 'Red Carpet' Over the Weekend — and It's Awesome

Last weekend, former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow walked down a different kind of red carpet.

Tebow and his foundation organized over 200 prom nights for kids with special needs.

The Tim Tebow Foundation’s “Night to Shine” is a prom night “centered on God’s love, for people with special needs” for kids 16 and older. On Feb. 12, more than 200 host churches in 48 states and eight countries hosted their own Night to Shine events.

According to the foundation, “That’s more than 70,000 volunteers and 30,000 honored guests sharing the same amazing prom experience on the same night around the world.”

The foundation works to ensure that the Night to Shine is an unforgettable evening for attendees, and they refer to their guests as “kings” and “queens.”

"I am so thankful for the 200 host churches and more than 70,000 volunteers that showed God's love by celebrating people with special needs and are turning Night to Shine into a worldwide movement," Tebow told Fox Sports. "The Night to Shine movement is more than just a prom; it is a night where people with special needs shine and they are told that they matter, that they are important and that God has a plan for their life!"

Tebow, currently an SEC Network analyst, shared images of the Night to Shine events — some of which he attended — on his social media pages.

“It’s so cool to see how God works in people’s lives when you come together and just love people,” Tebow said of the evening in a video posted on Facebook.
