Rep. Peter King Says Comparing Cruz to Lucifer 'Maybe Gives Lucifer a Bad Name
April 28, 2016
"I fully agree with John Boehner."
Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) responded Thursday to former House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) likening Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to the Prince of Darkness, saying that he agrees with the onetime GOP leader — but taking it a step further.
"I fully agree with John Boehner. Maybe it gives Lucifer a bad name by comparing him to Ted Cruz," King told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. The New York Republican went on to say that Cruz brought about the government shutdown to boost his own name identification, all while costing taxpayers millions of dollars.

King made the comment after Boehner on Wednesday called Cruz "Lucifer in the flesh," while adding "I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life."
Cruz responded to the former speaker's criticism by saying he's never actually "worked with" Boehner and that the two men have spoken only a few times.
Cruz said his prior exchanges with Boehner have consisted of "pleasantries," such as "Mr. Speaker, good to see you again."
