October 13, 2016
"People who identify as nerdy, rapping about the things they love..."
When "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek insulted one of the contestants on Wednesday's episode, the internet noticed. Within minutes of airing, dozens of tweets celebrated and/or criticized Trebek's slam.

During the interview portion of the show, Susan Cole of Bowie, Maryland, told Trebek that her favorite kind of music was something called "nerd core hip-hop." After the host said "it doesn't sound like fun," Cole replied, "I think it's very fun."
The librarian explained further: "People who identify as nerdy, rapping about the things they love — video games, science fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners."
Trebek paused before adding, "Losers, in other words."
The moment was quickly captured, re-posted and re-tweeted thousands of times.
Cole exacted her revenge about 20 minutes later when she handily won the game in a runaway, scoring a $20,600 payday.
