At two Michigan rallies Monday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took swipes at disgraced former New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner.
The FBI’s probe into allegations Weiner exchanged explicit text messages with an underage girl unearthed emails relevant to their investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state.
"I never thought we would be saying thank you to Anthony Weiner," Trump said at a rally in Warren, Michigan. "I never liked you, Anthony."
At a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Trump said that Clinton “set up an illegal private email server in a closet to shield herself from her illegal activities.”
“We can be sure that what is in those emails is absolutely devastating,” Trump said. “And I think we are going to find out, by the way, for the first time.”
Trump proceeded to thank Huma Abedin, a top aide to Clinton, and her estranged husband.
“Good job, Huma,” he said. “Thank you, Anthony Weiner.”
