Gunman threatens to kill teen — but courageous kid turns the tables on suspect in a big way
November 16, 2016
Hearing her dog barking, a Texas mom asked her son to check out the backyard of their home Thursday night — and that's when things got scary.
Leonard Trevino, 56, was spotted under a deck with a handgun and demanded to be let inside the home, a San Antonio police report said.
"I'm here to f***ing kill you," Trevino allegedly told the 17-year-old boy who saw him, the police report added.
Police said Trevino also is a suspect in a child indecency charge in connection with the same family, KENS-TV reported. The police report filed for Thursday's incident notes "retaliation" as one of the charges against Trevino.
But as the teen apparently followed orders and walked toward the back door to let Trevino in, the police report said the boy only pretended to open it — and then turned around and began fighting with the gunman.
And while the police report said Trevino hit the kid in the forehead multiple times, it noted the female from the house pepper sprayed Trevino — and the teenager managed to wrestle away Trevino's gun and fire it, shooting the suspect in the cheek.
TheBlaze on Wednesday confirmed with the family at the crime scene that the female and 17-year-old boy listed in the San Antonio police report who encountered Trevino indeed are mother and son.
Police found Trevino in another backyard, arrested him and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Trevino and the 17-year-old were taken to a hospital for treatment, the police report said.
