Hero pit-bull pup stops rapist from attacking his owner

New York Post reports that a young woman named Maya Fairweather, 18, was visiting her boyfriend Carlos Guzman. Around 10 p.m., Fairweather decided she wanted to take her Guzman's new pit-bull puppy, Apollo, out for a walk around Red Hook Recreational Park in New York.

Putting in her headphones and letting the dog off the leash to let him play as he would, Fairweather suddenly felt someone pull her headphones out. Thinking it was her boyfriend, she turned around and smiled, only to find a stranger staring back at her. The man forced her to the ground and began trying to pull her pants off.

According to her boyfriend's sister Destiny Guzman, Fairweather is "tiny," and wouldn't have likely put up much of an effective fight against her attacker.

Luckily, Apollo was equipped to be more than effective. According to Fairweather, the dog came charging in and bit the man's leg so hard that he had a difficult time shaking him off. During the pup's attack on the attacker, Fairweather was able to get free and run back to the safety of her boyfriend's house, where Destiny then took her to the local police station.

As for the attacker, police put out a search for him after he managed to finally get free of Apollo's jaws and ran away with his proverbial tail between his legs.

“He was protective. I think it would’ve been a lot worse. I wouldn’t have been so lucky," Fairweather said of Apollo. “He is a sweet dog. I never thought he would bite anyone. He never bit anyone before. He’s usually very friendly and just jumps on everyone.”

“I just hope he bit the s–t out of you," added Fairweather to her attacker, wherever he is.
