President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday compared Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (Wis.) to "a fine wine," saying every day that goes by he appreciates the top House Republican's "genius" more.
Trump made the comment in Ryan's home state of Wisconsin at a rally that was part of his so-called "thank you tour," the Washington Post reported.
"Speaker Paul Ryan, I've really come to appre—" Trump said as the crowd interrupted with boos. "Oh no, I've come to appreciate him."
"I'll tell you, he has been terrific," Trump continued. "And you know, honestly, he's like a fine wine. Every day goes by I get to appreciate his genius more and more."
"Now if he ever goes against me I'm not going to say that, OK?" Trump jokingly added.
