CNN quick to declare Obama innocent of wiretapping accusation — but Twitter says 'not so fast\

President Donald Trump on Saturday accused former President Barack Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower in the latter stages of last year's presidential campaign. A spokesman for Obama was quick to deny the accusations, while congressmen and women have vowed to get to the bottom of the accusations.

Either way, it's hard for anyone at this point to make a determination either way whether or not Trump's accusations against Obama are true or full of hot air.

However, that didn't stop CNN on Saturday from fully declaring Obama's innocence.

Running a story about Trump's claims Saturday, CNN declared: "Trump falsely accuses Obama of wiretapping him."

Again, no determination has been made either way and, at this point, facts are sparse. Politicos on both sides of the aisle have made comments about the accusations — some saying they're true, others saying they're false — and it will probably be some time before America is informed of the actual facts.

But making the determination without facts was something Twitter would not give CNN a pass on. Users went on to skewer the cable news network for their headline:

CNN host Brian Stelter, who originally noted CNN's "blunt" headline, later called Trump the "conspiracy theory president" during an interview on CNN.

It also appears CNN has since updated the headline on the story to read, "Trump's baseless wiretap claim."
