Rapper eviscerates police in new song: all police want to do is 'scatter brain matter

Rapper Ice Cube's latest single titled "Good Cop, Bad Cop" was released on Tuesday, and in the song, the rapper didn't spare police — and police brutality — at all.

Released to commemorate the rapper's 25th anniversary of album "Death Certificate," Ice Cube — real name O'Shea Jackson — muses on police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Some of the lyrics to the song include:

"Black Lives Matter, it's not chit chatter/ 'Cause all they wanna do is scatter brain matter/ A mind is a terrible thing to waste/ A nine is terrible in your face."

During an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple's Beats 1 Radio, Jackson claimed that the song was "F**k tha Police 2017," referencing a song popularized by the rapper and group NWA in 1988.

"We had done 'F**k tha Police' so many years ago," Jackson told Beats 1 Radio. "With the emergence of 'Straight Outta Compton' the movie, we realized that it's still the same thing that's going on. We needed a more up-to-date version of the community talking to the police and the authorities."

He continued, "Now we appealing to the good cops to turn in the bad cops. That's the first line of defense for us … all the respect that police used to have is being sucked away by these bad apples."
