Gay female senator shuts down a male senator in viral clip: 'You're not my type

Openly gay Penny Wong, an Australian senator who currently serves as Leader of the Opposition went viral in a clip that surfaced on Twitter Wednesday, when Liberal National Senator Ian Macdonald interrupted her several times as she was addressing the Senate.

After being cut off during her speech on at least three separate occasions, Wong fired back and addressed the president directly.

“Thank you, Mr. President, the Senator Macdonald really does have an unhealthy obsession with me,” Wong said. “But I digress.”

Off camera, Macdonald can be heard murmuring, but it's unclear what he is saying.

Wong, undeterred, fired back and said, "You’re not my type either, mate, don’t worry about it."

Buzzfeed reported that Macdonald and Wong regularly face off in meetings, as Macdonald reportedly has had a long-running propensity for interrupting Wong during Senate gatherings.

Similarly in America, liberals were triggered by Attorney General Jeff Sessions' interruption of Democratic Sen.  Kamala Harris earlier in June.

During the Senate Intelligence Committee testimony of Sessions, Sessions snapped at Harris for rushing him during his testimony and claimed that her insistence was making him nervous.

Wednesday's face off between Wong and Macdonald received nearly the same level of internet virality as the moment between Harris and Sessions.
