Kellyanne Conway slaps down the GOP on live TV over failure to cooperate with President Trump
August 02, 2017
Kellyanne Conway during a Wednesday appearance on Fox News claimed that she didn't understand why the GOP is dragging their heels to complete "simple" governmental milestones — namely hot-button topics like health care and ISIS.
Conway claimed that President Donald Trump isn't the one to blame, but the Republicans who are holding up the passing of legislation.
“They’re the ones who promised their constituents they would do some simple things like repeal and replace Obamacare, get real tax reform and tax relief for their constituents, put ISIS in retreat, if not full-on defeat, and keep us safe and prosperous,” Conway said during Wednesday's appearance. "The president has been here for six months. They've been talking about repealing Obamacare for seven-and-a-half years
"He's ready. He has the pen in hand, but look," Conway warned. "It's not an accident. I'd say it's causation, not coincidence, that we have a Republican House, Senate, White House, most of the state legislatures, and of course a majority of the governors. ... The excuse of divided government is over."
Earlier in the interview when asked if Trump believed that Republicans are on his side, Conway answered, "Yes, he certainly hopes so."
