Video shows car slam into tunnel wall, flip over — the truly shocking moment is what happens next
August 08, 2017
Surveillance video captured the moment a speeding car slammed into a tunnel wall and later flipped over — but that wasn't even the most shocking part of the footage.
ABC News tweeted out the clip early Tuesday morning. It was recorded on Monday in Chongqing, China, located in the country's southern region.

The video shows a speeding white car behind a darker vehicle. The white car in the left lane appears to begin to veer over the solid white line in the middle of the road inside a tunnel. The car then overcorrects, slamming into the tunnel wall and flipping over several feet from the point of initial impact. The vehicle comes to a stop upside down in the right lane as a red car passes by.
But perhaps even more shocking than the crash itself is what happened just moments later.
The passenger in the car was seen crawling out of the vehicle and stepping up onto the sidewalk along the tunnel's edge.
Amazingly, the BBC reported the passenger was not hurt. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The identities of those in the car were not immediately clear.
